Affecting the eye of Magdalena Więcek is another monographic presentation of the work of a Polish 20th-century sculptor at Zachęta. Exhibitions by artists such as Alina Szapocznikow, Alina Ślesińska and Barbara Zbrożyna revealed the significance of their explorations and the universality of their works, as well as the process of building women’s creative independence, which is also part of the art of Magdalena Więcek (1924–2008). On the one hand, it results from the experience of the entire generation that created after socialist realism, on the other hand, it is an important element of the artistic achievements of women from this generation.

Muzeum Rzeźby Współczesnej. Centrum Rzeźby Polskiej w Orońsku.

Centrum Rzeźby Polskiej po raz drugi prezentuje twórczość Magdaleny Więcek, wybitnej rzeźbiarki i cenionego pedagoga. Pierwsza wystawa artystki w Orońsku miała miejsce w Galerii „Oranżeria” w 1993 r. Przedstawiono wówczas kilkanaście rzeźb, głównie z cyklu Sacrum oraz kilka rysunków. Od tego czasu minęło równo dwadzieścia lat. Aktualna wystawa obejmuje twórczość Więcek w szerokim wyborze, przykłady najważniejszych cykli rzeźbiarskich, prace powstałe między 1954 a 2008 r.

Museum of Contemporary Sculpture. Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko.

For the second time the Center of Polish Sculpture presents the works of Magdalena Więcek, an outstanding sculptor and respected teacher. The artist’s first exhibition in Orońsko took place in „Orangeria” Gallery in 1993. Several sculptures were presented, mainly from the „Sacrum” series, and several drawings. Exactly twenty years have passed since then. The current exhibition includes a wide selection of Więcek’s works, examples of the most important sculpture cycles, works created n the years 1954 – 2008.
